The judges will have done their judging and at a Cocktail evening at The Rise in Maylands they’ll be announcing the winners under the 8 categories: Best Service Based Business, Best Retail Business, Best Franchise Business, Best Start-up (New) Business, Best Home Based Business, Best Commercial Enterprise, Best Environmentally Sustainable Business, Best Community Not-for-Profit Organisation
And who from Bassendean will pick up an award? You’ll have to come along and find out!
But as we have maintained all along, all entries in the awards are winners regardless of whether they pick up the gong on the night.
Tackling all those questions can be a little bit sticky, like being able to write an overview of your business, thinking about business planning, describing your target market, what’s your customer service like and how do you look after your staff, automatically put you and your business ahead of many competitors who neglect to ask themselves the same questions. Time and again we hear operators saying the process its self was the most rewarding!
But winning does have its own unique rewards too. Having a trophy to display at home or in the shop is pretty cool plus extra publicity is provided through a link up with all the other Business Associations and Chambers in the eastern metro region and jointly featuring the finest businesses in the EMRC Business Exemplar Project.

The men of steam of Rail Heritage WA at the Railway Museum are back with a vengeance this year.
A great range of visiting displays, including several new heritage displays, and Brookfield are helping to spread the safety message to the young. There will be the free shuttle bus again to reduce parking hassles, thanks to Metrobus.
Sounds like we will have the old-fashioned throb of a 60 year old X diesel class turning over during the day!
And the latest additions – model traction engines in steam (BIG ones – over 2 metres long!) and the Swan Woodturners will be demonstrating their skills.
Before the 4th November, put aside a couple hours and consider your marketing, your customer service, the improvements and goals you have for your business and you will be well on your way to completing a submission for the Central Eastern Business Association (CEBA) Business Awards.
The Town of Bassendean has supported these awards from the outset and strongly recommends all businesses owners to give it a go.
This year the association has made big strides in simplifying the entry process. Follow this link here to find tips on how to enter, the entry package, and the entry portal itself.
The questions are straight forward and you will gain a great insight into your own business from just completing the submission form.
