AusIndustry
As the key business program delivery division of the Department of Innovation, Industry, Science and Research, AusIndustry is committed to delivering business services that encourage sustainable growth through industry development, investment and business innovation.
AusIndustry offers both entitlement and competitive grant programs. For grants-based products, customers compete for limited funds, based on the merits of their application. For entitlement programs, such as the R&D Tax Concession, customers make claims in accordance with pre-determined criteria.
AusIndustry provides incentives to help Australian businesses and individuals:
- conduct research and development;
- grow small business;
- take up new technology;
- undertake industry-specific manufacturing and production; and
- commercialise a new technology or venture.

Enterprise Connect.
Enterprise Connect offer comprehensive advice and support to eligible Australian small and medium-sized enterprises to help them transform and reach their full potential. Based within the Department of Innovation, Industry, Science and Research, Enterprise Connect work with small and medium businesses in industries as diverse as manufacturing, clean energy, resources, defence and the creative sector by providing business improvement services.
Eligible businesses are able to request a comprehensive, confidential and independent Business Review at no charge. Enterprise Connect also delivers a number of targeted support programs to address specific business and regional development needs. These include:

Small Business Development Corporation (SBDC)
The SBDC is funded by the State Government and focuses specifically on small business. It offers a comprehensive support function, from planning and structures, Marketing, Premises and Location, Tax and Legal requirements, Importing and Exporting matters, Business grants, Employing people and more.
The SBDC have had significant success recently with their BizFit programme. This program is boosting resilience or strength in local business. For owners and managers they can polish up their business skills, they can get some inspiration to re-ignite their passion for the business; and much more.

SBC East Metro
The SBC East Metro is a local version of the SBDC.
SBC East Metro can provide you with independent, confidential, practical assistance and other support in business planning, financing, market research, trade information and industry regulations. The Centre is also a gateway to private and public support programs for business. SBC East Metro offers no cost counselling and support to new and existing business. The business and public sectors in partnership fund the Centre in Midland.
The SBC East Metro host many workshops and training events through the year. Many of these will appear on this web site as we are advised.
Amongst the many inducements they offer for business owners to gain new skills and maintain their knowledge of latest trends, a major success for them has been the Small Business/Smart Business Vouchers. By presenting a voucher to a training provider up to $200.00 of the fee will be paid by SBC.

A local business association with affiliations to Bassendean. A number of local businesses are members of this club. Set up essentially to encourage networking, CEBA has now established annual Business Awards and many diverse events virtually every month.

Swan Chamber of Commerce (SCC)
The Swan Chamber of Commerce is the peak forum for businesses in Midland and surrounding areas. It has a strong reputation for lobbying aggressively for what is needed for a better business environment for the region. The SCC hold regular breakfast seminars and luncheons.
Every business joining up is able to promote business, meet potential customers, learn all about what is going on in the region that impacts on the business community and keep informed on business issues.
